My Grandparents’ War

4 x 60’ for Channel 4 Specialist Factual

UK Premier 9pm Wednesday 27th November ’19

Four of Britain’s biggest stars Helena Bonham Carter, Mark Rylance, Kristin Scott Thomas and Carey Mulligan explore their grandparents’ extraordinary stories from World War Two in My Grandparents’ War for Channel 4.

As the world commemorates 80 years since the outbreak of World War Two, this new series sees leading Hollywood actors undertake fascinating journeys into their family’s past as they re-trace their grandparents’ footsteps.

All of the actors have unanswered questions about the scars war left on their grandparents. In each authored film, the actors travel the globe to meet the last survivors, speak to descendants with a shared history and talk to people from all sides of the conflict.  Confronting the terrors their families faced and the threats they encountered, they uncover the sacrifices all our grandparents made.

My Grandparents’ War delivers a compelling biographical insight into some of the Britain’s leading actors and is a moving reminder of how bravery, love and self-sacrifice prevailed in the face of tragedy.
